[NEWS] TVXQ Hero JaeJoong clarifies on rumours of love relationship with Japanese actress Abiru Yuu
Dong Bang Shin Ki Hero JaeJoong’s representative spoke up about rumours of love relationship between JaeJoong and Japanese actress Abiru Yuu.
It was said in Japanese weekly magazine ‘Female Seven’ on 26th November, “JaeJoong and Abiru Yuu were seen on a date late night in Tokyo recently. The date between the 2 was first witnessed in early October where they were spotted very initimately together on late night date at about 3am.”
But a representative said on 26th November, “Totally absurd. The date which the magazine stated – early October – JaeJoong was in Korea. How can the 2 be together, we really cannot understand. And according to Avex Japan, JaeJoong has never met Abiru Yuu before.”
[TRANS] Three Conditions Of SME for The Return Of THSK
Avex needed Tohoshinki to return Japan for activities urgently, and SME agreed under 3 conditions.

[TRANS] Big Bang and TVXQ receive the Gold Artist Award
On the Best Hit Song Awards 2009 aired through Japan TV on the 26th, two of Korea's favorite male idol groups received the Gold Artist Award. They were none other than Big Bang and TVXQ.
This has actually been the second THIRD time for the senior TVXQ boys to claim this glorifying title, whereas it's a first for the rookie Big Bang boys who only debuted in Japan five months ago (though they have released many ENG songs in 2008)
As many already know, TVXQ is still in a dispute with SM Entertainment regarding their unfair contracts. Due to this reason, the special stage for this event was extra special for the fans who have waited a long time to see the five boys come together as one again. U-Know Yunho expressed during rehearsal, "I really want to go up on stage. I am very happy to be awarded the Gold Artist Award."

However, after releasing their first single My Heaven, their popularity skyrocketed in Japan, reaching up to the second place on the Oricon Daily Charts. In addition, their second single Gara Gara Go! successfully climbed to third.

[TRANS] Shindong had wanted to quit Super Junior before
Korean idol boyband member Shindong has admitted that he once thought of quitting Super Junior, and exposed that his original dream was not to be a singer, but to earn lots of money instead.
On last night’s episode of MBC [Radio Superstar] (?), Shindong expressed that when he first entered Super Junior, the disparity between his and the other members’ looks hit him very hard. He admitted that he knew deeply it was impossible for him to match up to the others in terms of looks, so he was then determined to be the funniest member in SuJu.
However, he soon found out that there were members who were funnier and more comedic than he was, and this led to him not knowing what role to play in the group, and eventually a serious consideration of quitting the group altogether.
Shindong also said, his original goal was not to be a singer, but to become an artiste so that he could earn more money. All of his singing and dance training was to become such an artiste, but in the end he unexpectedly ended up in an idol group.
He said that after being a singer, was he able to personally feel the charisma that music has, and now he no longer has any thoughts of leaving the group, and will work harder to become a better musician.

In a recent interview with edaily SPN, f(x) conveyed their special relationship with SHINee. "Although all the sunbaes in the company treats us really well, but the SHINee sunbaes take especially good care of us."
With regards to SHINee, f(x) said "Because they are sunbaes that we are directly under, we spent our trainee days together." "As such, compared to other sunbaes, we seem to be a lot closer to them (SHINee)."

[TRANS] What Tohoshinki can do, but not Dong Bang Shin Gi
It seems unlikely fans will get to see all five members of Dong Bang Shin Gi (TVXQ) in Korea for the time being but Tohoshinki, as they are called in Japan, is set to resume their activities in the country, according to reports. According to Japanese media including "Daily Sports", the group is set to appear on Nihon TV's year-end awards ceremony "Best Hit Festival 2009" on November 26. They proved they remain a force to be reckoned with, being nominated for the Gold Artist Award alongside top Japanese singers including EXILE and Koda Kumi. TVXQ has also decided to show up at Fuji TV's "FNS Kayousai 2009" on December 2 and have also been juggling their schedule to make appearances on NHK's "Kohaku Uta Gassen", translated into "Red and White Song Battle", and other year-end music ceremonies.
Hence, TVXQ will undertaking their activities in Japan as a five-member group for the first time in three months since last performing together at the A-Nation Osaka concert on August 30. After Japanese media quoted Korean reports saying the group may be on the verge of disbanding over legal disputes, TVXQ's fans in Japan had been as worried as fans in Korea over what lies in the future for one of Asia's most popular boy bands. NHK broadcast a rerun of an episode featuring the group in its music program "Music Japan" upon receiving endless requests from viewers. And Ishihara, producer for the program and also executive producer for NHK's "Kohaku", wrote on his blog, "I know many of you TVXQ fans out there must feel insecure in many ways these days. I really hope this rerun makes you happy and we hope to be able to make a second TVXQ special in the near future."
Meanwhile, TVXQ's Japanese agency Avex reaffirmed its stance it announced on August 6, saying it will continue to carry out full-fledged support of the group's activities in Japan. Other than making TV appearances, the band is also set to release their 29th single "BREAK OUT!" in Japan on January 27 next year. But fans will get to hear the lively dance tune ahead of the single's release, as it will be the theme song to NHK's Thursday night drama "Tomehane! Suzusato High School, Calligraphy Club" premiering January 7. TVXQ also plans to meet with fans thereafter, starting with Kobe between January 19 to 20, a week later in Sendai and on the two last days of the month in Yokohama.
[TRANS] Super Junior Lee Teuk, “The girl I wanted to marry, was two-timing with another celebrity”
On SBS Strong Heart aired on 24th November, Lee Teuk revealed his heartbreaking lovestory which took place 3 years back.
He said, “After debut, I need to show responsibility in every matter as a leader. I even have a little pre-test about going into a love relationship.” He talks about falling in love with a woman 3 years back, “3 years ago, when I was doing schedule, a lady passed by and caught my attention. And I thought ‘So you can really fall in love with a person at first sight’.”
He added, “I thought that it will be burdersome if I have gone up personally. So I asked ShinDong to help me ask for her contacts. I said ‘This is Lee Teuk. I really like you that I think I’m in love with you. I hope we can meet up and talk’. And the woman said, ‘I feel pressured because you are an idol’.”
But to win the woman’s heart, Lee Teuk had borrowed Super Junior’s 250K kilo schedule car and prepared a CD with songs that the she may like. Lee Teuk said, “I stopped the car in a park in YeoIlDo and played the song ‘DDD’ by Kim HyeRim to lighten up the mood. She said that we have similar taste in music. She was then thirsty and as I got PET bottles and went to a nearby restaurant to fill it up with Cola and cider. She said that she felt my love and was thankful.”
He continued, “But she never told me that she like me. So I proposed ‘I want to go out with you officially’. And the woman accepted. But following that we only meet like once a week. She called and said ‘JungSoo sshi, I really wanted to watch that movie.”
“Even though it was peak hours, I went out for a date with the woman. Even though I may be caught by reporters, I didn’t care more and held the woman’s hand and we went to a cinema in KangNam. I thought that I really wanted to marry this woman and is ready to give up my celebrity life. People have saw me and asked ‘Is that Lee Teuk?’. But I didn’t care more.”
But coincidentally the woman’s mobile phone rang. And the person on the other line is a ChaeBol 2nd generation celebrity. Lee Teuk said, “I passed her the phone and pretended that I didn’t see his name, she then went away to take the call. I had the 250K borrowed car and it was said that he was waiting in front of her house with a luxurious foreign car.”
“I was so happy looking at the woman for 30 seconds. After that it was like hell. After that day, she did not contact me and we did not meet up at all. And for the next 6 months, I went into a slump. I kept calling her but she never picked up.”
Super Junior member Eun Hyuk said, “This is the first time I see Lee Teuk fall in love and get so heartbroken.”
And when asked if it is alright to reveal his love story on the show, Lee Teuk said that it is alright since he has said in a calm state. “Now that I’ve said these words out, I feel good inside. I really wanted to give up then. But I have no regrets about it now.”

[NEWS] THSK to appear together for the first time in 3 months
DBSK/THSK is going to appear on Japanese television with all five members together. It will be their first public appearance together in almost 3 months, since they have not been seen together after their Osaka concert which happened on August 30th in Japan.
They will appear on Nihon TV's "Best Hit Music Award 2009" on coming 26th and Fuji TV's "FNS Music Award" on December 2nd. They are also planning on attending NHK's "Red White Kohaku" and "Japan Record Awards". Members will soon part for Japan in order to plan their schedules for these end of year ceremonies.
Although Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu are legally independent of SM Entertainment now (as in they don't have to listen to SME on DBSK related activities), they are still bound to AVEX, their Japanese management as Tohoshinki. As long as their contract with AVEX stands, they are to carry on with their Japanese schedules. Will they really appear as one THSK on these shows, and will there be any performances?
[NEWS] SNSD Eliminated Again
The 'MAMA' (Mnet Asian Music Awards) were held with SNSD removed from the ceremony.
How could they have removed SNSD? What is the reason behind this unimaginable situation? This year's song of the year went to 2NE1's 'I Don't Care,' it is not unreasonable to say
that this song was one of the greatest hits of the year, bit without a doubt SNSD's 'Gee' whipped up a huge storm as well. To be truthful many people are in doubt with the decision as they all agree that 'I Don't Care' did not come anywhere near 'Gee.' Not admitting to this truth is like trying to block out the sun with your hand. This year was the year of idols, especially for the girl groups. SNSD opened the year 2009 and was the centre of attention for the majority of the year. SNSD was the dark horse. Although SNSD were slightly overcome by 2NE1 in the summer, looking throughout the entire year; SNSD dominated. In this reality, we have no choice but to submit to the results of the awards. If we ignore reality then the award ceremony holds no meaning. We cannot judge the groups by its financial success only. We must take vocal ability and musicality into account as well.
If we observe the finalists of MAMA they included Big Bang's G Dragon, 2NE1, 2PM, Kara, Brown Eyed Girls and Super Junior. They are all idols. From this we can conclude that they were chosen through pure financial success only and the support of fan clubs. The award ceremony itself was skewed away from fair judgement.
The very fact that SNSD was disregarded in the ceremony proves the inconsistency of the judgement of MAMA. How could they remove SNSD, the most financially successful song of the year. It completely contradicts their judgement. To be frank there is little difference in talent between SNSD and 2NE1. The same with Kara. If we look only at the skill of a girl group it would without a doubt be Brown Eyed Girls. If the award for best girl group went to Brown Eyed Girls it would have been understandable.
However, that decision would have also been awkward. If vocal skills and musicality were that important, then there should have been the same outcome with the other awards. It was a festival of idol groups of the financially powerful entertainment companies. Looking at the decision for the girl group award, taking out the most successful SNSD and giving the award to Brown Eyed Girls would have been suspicious also.
It is also hard to blame SM for not contributing to the ceremony. This is because last summer (in Korea) the results were pre-announced on 'Mnet Choice.' The protagonists of that day were 2PM, 2NE1 and Lee Hyori. Back then SNSD were not included as well. SNSD have already been through this kind of situation before, if they predicted that the same situation were to occur again, it is understandable that they did not attend to an award ceremony that has nothing to do with them.
Looking at last summer's results for 'Mnet Choice' they asked that the judgements to be made
fairly on financial success only. It is embarrassing to say that the awards were suspiciously given in all the categories. 'MAMA' is not the only one with this problem. This was also the case with the 'Best Film' awards. People could not figure out the standards and criteria to which the films were judged. It is a problem with Korea's standard of the award ceremonies. This is a never ending problem where the awards are skewed towards whoever's wish.
So it is obvious to make this request again. Please hold these kinds of award ceremonies in your personal time and location with your neighbors. Even with the awards being judged by financial success, taking out the country's most loved song makes the award ceremony meaningless to society. In the year of the girl group idols, we saw that SNSD was removed from the awards twice. It is impossible not to say that the way award ceremonies in Korea have become preposterous.
[NEWS] K-Pop Stars Head to Shanghai for Concert
K-pop stars Wheesung, f(x), 2PM, 2AM, U-Kiss and 4Minute will be heading to Shanghai this week for a concert and fashion show.
The ``Feel Korea, K-POP Night & K-Fashion Show'' is part of the ``2010-2012 Visit Korea Year'' initiative, which was launched earlier this month. The fashion show will be held at the Longemont Hotel, Tuesday, while the much-anticipated K-pop concert will be held at the Shanghai Grand Stage, Wednesday evening.
Korea is hoping the star power of the Korean celebrities will encourage more Chinese tourists to travel to Korea in the next few years. Wheesung, a popular R&B singer, already has many fans in China. His remake of Craig David's ``Insomnia'' has gained a lot of airplay recently. He has just released his sixth album, ``Vocolate.''
Girl group f(x) made its debut just a few months ago, but have caught people's attention with their catchy hits ``LA chA Ta'' and ``Chocolate Love.'' The multi-national group includes Victoria, who is Chinese, Amber, a Taiwanese-American, and Sulli, Luna and Krystal from Korea.
2AM and 2PM, two male groups from JYP Entertainment, have contrasting musical styles. 2AM mainly sing ballads, while 2PM is more focused on dance. 2PM is in the midst of promotions for its first album ``1:59AM'' which includes the single ``Heartbeat.''
4Minute is another girl group that has attracted attention for its hit songs ``Hot Issue,'' ``Muzik'' and ``What a Girl Wants.'' U-Kiss is a seven-member pop group, that recently released its third single ``Conti Ukiss.''
These events, which are showcasing Korean pop music, fashion, tourism, drama and digital contents, are expected to keep active cultural exchanges and maintain an amicable relationship between Korea and China. It is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Korea Foundation for Cultural Exchange; Korea Creative Content Agency; and the Visit Korea Committee.
[TRANS] The unfortunate story behind Mnet and SM Entertainment
Last night's MAMA, hosted by Mnet, was certainly a feast for numerous Kpop fans out there. However, as enjoyable as it was, the event was (and still is) swamped with layers of controversy, with SM Entertainment's boycott being the eye of the storm. Mnet and SME appear to be mortal enemies, but many still remember the fact that they used to be very friendly with each other. Exactly what made them become such bitter adversaries? Let's examine the dispute between Mnet and SME.
What exactly is Mnet?
Mnet is a media company owned by CJ Media which focuses on music, media, entertainment and web content business. CJ Media is a part of CJ, a South Korean conglomerate that is one of the top five largest companies in the country. Mnet is involved in pretty much every aspect of the entertainment industry, ranging from album production, distribution, sales, management, television broadcasting, online media and many other businesses. With these expansion, Mnet has become a giant in music industry, with market share of 44% in album sales and over 20% in online music sales.
Mnet and CJ are also shareholders in major entertainment companies DSP Entertainment and YG Entertainment. Although they own no more than 20% of shares from each company, the fact that CJ is a conglomerate means the aforementioned companies are now affiliates of CJ. Smaller entertainment companies with famous names such as Shinwha, Kim Dong Ryul and Wheesung are "affiliates" of CJ as well. Similarly, 30% of JYP Entertainment is held by SK, another conglomerate that is one of top 5 largest companies in Korea, making JYP a faction with as much support as Mnet has.
How has SME and Mnet's relationship developed over the years?
Before 2008, SME and Mnet were quite friendly. MKMF, now known as MAMA, featured numerous artists from SME which were given many awards. However, during 2008, Mnet proposed to SME that they would like to be the distributor of music produced by SME; in return, Mnet would receive certain percentage of profit from the sales. Mnet had already been distributing music of JYP, DSP and YG, and with the right to distribute SME's music they would become undisputed leader in the industry. SME refused the offer as they had the ability to distribute their own music and did not feel the need to pay Mnet for a job that they could do themselves. Mnet undoubtedly held a grudge against SME for obstructing their dominance of the industry, and the friendship ended there.
CJ has also attempted hostile takeover of SME but failed. If they had been successful, CJ would have acquired control of Korean entertainment industry. These facts have not been well-publicized, until recent controversy involving SME and MAMA have brought the public's attention to the relationship between the two parties. With SNSD's Gee and MAMA, we have now witnessed the nature of their relationship.
How does MAMA play into this tense relationship between SME and Mnet?
One of the biggest controversies brought on by MAMA was the fact that the three members of TVXQ, Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu, made their appearance for acceptance of Best Representative of Asia Award. Although some may argue that SME's outrage was uncalled for, and that the trio is free to do whatever they want, the choice to make an appearance at an Mnet event was deliberate and could not have been a spontaneous, wanton decision.
So what's the significance behind TVXQ's appearance?
Many have suspected that the three members were able to act in such bold manner against SME in recent months because they were being supported by an organization more powerful than SME. With their unabashed appearance at MAMA, it now appears that Mnet and CJ might be the ones that have the three members' back. It is very possible that CJ and Mnet are backing the three members in order to win their fight against SME for dominance in the industry. If that is so, then TVXQ members have become mere pawns in a battle between two corporations.
SME, a company now known for its oppressive, big-corporate attitude towards its artists, is ironically under attack from one of the largest corporations in Korea. Both companies are profit-motivated organizations that are pursuing whatever action that generates more profit, so there is no good or bad in a situation like this. What is unfortunate, however, is that the artists have become the victims in this corporate power struggle. TVXQ, SNSD, and SHINee are all victims in this dispute between SME and CJ/Mnet; MAMA could merely have been the beginning of penance for these artists.

Xiah Junsu said, "Thank you. It's been a while. We are thankful to received such a big award. We would like to thank all our fans in Asia for this award."
Micky Yoochun said, "This is the first time I've ever had such a big yearning to sing on a stage like this. I was able to get to such a place because I became a singer by meeting great members. Please give us your support. We will become a group who does not fall below your expectations."

[NEWS] TVXQ 3 Members: “We Never Signed The Shenzhen Concert Contract”
“The Shenzhen Concert Note of Confirmation, we never signed it ourselves.”
Three members of group TVXQ stated that an unauthorized use of their signatures was used for the documents relevant to the Shenzhen concert. Xiah Junsu, YoungWoong Jaejoong, and Micky Yoochun’s representative stated on the 19th that, “We realized only recently that the signatures of the three members of TVXQ were being used without authorization. The signatures on the Shenzhen concert note of confirmation were not signed by the three members themselves, but somebody else signed the paper instead.”
The three members side found out about the unauthorized use of their signatures on the note of confirmation after their Korean and Chinese fans questioned the validity of the signatures. The note of confirmation in question was the document that recognized the singer’s willingness to attend the concert in China. This document was then shown at the location of ticket sales in order to prove to ticket buyers that the singer would indeed be attending the concert. Sejong Law Firm’s Lawyer Lim Sang Hyuk of the three TVXQ members stated, “Setting aside the validity of the Shenzhen concert contract, this act was an action that brought misunderstanding to the fans. We are planning to take counteractions against this action officially.”
Sejong also released a hand written document of Mr. A who says he signed the note of confirmation instead. He also showed the actual signatures of Xiah Junsu, YoungWoong Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun to show that there were clear differences in the signatures. according to the hand written document, Mr. A “Signed the Shenzhen Concert note of confirmation instead of TVXQ in March.” Mr. A’s claims are to be investigated.
